Yes, Hamsters can eat cabbage it is not toxic to your hamster. But due to it being hard to digest we would only recommend you feed your hamster this food on rare occasions. The calcium content can lead to kidney stones and the fiber content can cause digestive issues.

If you want to feed your hamster cabbage we recommend feeding them only a small amount no bigger than their head no more than twice a week. If you are at all concerned feeding this vegetable to your hamster we would recommend you don’t there are other leafy greens you can feed your hamster like certain types of lettuce and spinach.

Just remember when introducing your hamster to new foods it is best to introduce them gradually. Some hamsters might have a bad time with certain foods. So we encourage our readers to get a small amount of the food and feed it to their hamster. Wait 48 hours and see if your hamster has had any reactions to the food. If they have not had any issues it is safe to say you can feed them this type of food as part of a balanced diet.
