Yes Hamsters can eat Raspberries. But due to it’s high sugar content you should limit the consumption of this fruit. Limit your hamster to two small pieces of raspberry a week. A small piece is around the size of your hamsters paws. Think of it as a healthy snack.

Yes in a way. There are very little negative effects that a raspberry can have on a hamster. The main concern you might have is it’s high sugar content. Raspberries like strawberries are very sweet. So consumption of them for your hamster needs to be kept a close eye on. Don’t just dump a bunch of raspberries with your hamster.

We recommend that you only give your hamster a small morsel of raspberry no more than twice a week. Also please ensure that any fresh food you leave inside your hamsters cage is cleaned up after 24 hours, you don’t want food to spoil.

If you do plan on giving you hamster a small piece of raspberry please ensure it is washed thoroughly. Also if you have dwarf hamsters it might be best if you don’t feed them as much as they are prone to have issues with sugar, when in doubt ask a vet.

Just remember when introducing your hamster to new foods it is best to introduce them gradually. Some hamsters might have a bad time with certain foods. So we encourage our readers to get a small amount of the food and feed it to their hamster. Wait 48 hours and see if your hamster has had any reactions to the food. If they have not had any issues it is safe to say you can feed them this type of food as part of a balanced diet.

Please be aware that with any fresh food you give your hamster, you need to ensure it is removed from the cage after 24 hours to make sure it doesn’t spoil. Hamsters are insane hoarders and will literally horde anything. Last thing you want is mouldy food in your hamsters house.
