When we make a batch of sweet potato mash at home, just before we add the butter and other ingredients we walk a small piece away for our hamsters. They love this food mashed!

If you are going to feed your hamster this vegetable it needs to be cooked and free from any extra ingredients. Sure butter and cheese are safe for your hamster to eat in small amounts, but you don’t want to overload them with over sweetened fat store bought mash.

If you want to feed your hamster sweet potato there are many ways you can do it. First you will need to peel and chop it. Once it’s prepared you can cook it, there are many ways you can do this, whatever is your preferred method. As above we love it mashed.
